Acceptable Use Policy
AppFly is a general-purpose tool: if we only built things we had already pictured, a coding agent would be a template gallery. These rules exist to protect the platform and other tenants, not to tell you what to build.
Please read this firstAppFly is a developer tool. These documents describe what the software does and what it does not do with data, and they are written to match the code in this repository. They are not a substitute for review by a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction before you rely on them in a commercial agreement.
Allowed
Anything lawful. Internal tools, storefront apps, customer account pages, checkout extensions, POS screens, Flow actions, theme blocks, discount logic, reporting, integrations, and anything else you can describe.
Publishing an app built with AppFly to the Shopify App Store, under your own name, with your own listing and your own support address. It is your app.
Migrating an app away from AppFly, including a self-hosted deployment. We would rather you had it than not.
Not allowed
Anything unlawful or infringing. Content that breaks the law, that infringes a copyright, trademark or right of privacy, or that harassment, defames or deceives people.
Malware and abuse. Anything whose purpose is to compromise a system, credential, or account, to phish, to scrape at a rate that degrades someone else's service, to send unsolicited bulk mail, or to evade a platform's controls.
Intrusion into our platform. Scanning, probing or interfering with AppFly's own infrastructure; reaching another tenant's data, apps or databases; running an app whose purpose is to escape the container it was given.
Reselling the agent accounts. AppFly integrates with coding agents you authenticate yourself. Passing that access on, or reselling the service as compute, is not what the service is for.
Bypassing quotas. Automating account creation, or building apps in order to consume agent budget you have not paid for.
Shopify's rules still apply
An app you build with AppFly is a Shopify app, and Shopify's own App Store requirements, prohibited-uses list and review process apply to it exactly as they would to one written by hand. Passing our rules does not get you past theirs.
Enforcement
Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. We may limit agent usage, suspend an app, or suspend an account, and we may report an app or a domain to Shopify, to a payment processor or to a hosting provider where a rule of law or of theirs requires it.
Material breach of this policy is also a breach of the Terms of Service, and the consequences there apply. Where the law requires us to act immediately — for example on a valid legal request — we will.
Report something
If you think an app built on AppFly breaks these rules, tell us at hello@appfly.si with the shop domain or app URL and what you believe it does. We would rather hear it from a third party than find it ourselves. Security issues have their own address: see the security page.
